The Nordson Medical team in Boyle, Roscommon has raised €110, 438 for Sunflower Children’s Hospice, with more than 170 employees coming together over the summer to support the cause. The Sunflower Children’s Hospice, funded by Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation, will become the first children’s hospice to be built outside Dublin and the first new children’s hospice developed in Ireland in more than 15 years.
The Nordson Medical campaign ran from early June until 6th July, during which donations from staff and supporters were entered into a prize draw, giving participants the chance to win one of a range of excellent prizes.
Donations and prize sponsorship were received from a wide variety of sources, including members of the public, sports clubs, businesses, financial cooperatives, and many other groups and individuals who generously supported the initiative. The initiative culminated on Nordson Medical’s annual Team Day on 10th July, where the prize winners were drawn and the final total raised was announced.

Funds raised will support the development of the Sunflower Children’s Hospice, which will provide specialist palliative and respite care for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as essential emotional, practical, and bereavement support for their families across eight counties in the West of Ireland.
The eight-bed facility is set to commence construction in late 2026 and will include key features such as family accommodation, hydrotherapy baths, play therapy and sensory rooms, garden access for each room, and a team of multidisciplinary medical professionals on site.
