At the heart of hospice care in the West.

Established in 1993, Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation has provided free, specialist palliative care to patients and families in Mayo and Roscommon for over 30 years.

Through its community palliative care teams, the Foundation has supported more than 20,000 patients and their families, helping people live with dignity, comfort and compassion at the most vulnerable times of life.

Responding to the voices of families in the West who had nowhere to turn, the Foundation is now building the Sunflower Children’s Hospice – the next chapter in a mission that has always been led by the people it serves.

A proven record of delivering care.

The Foundation has successfully built two adult hospice facilities, on time and under budget:

Both hospices were delivered entirely through community fundraising and continue to operate as vital centres of care across the region.

This experience underpins the delivery of the Sunflower Children’s Hospice, ensuring it is guided by strong governance, clinical excellence and long-term sustainability.
